 The Basics; Your Username: Scorcher Character Name: Sephirot Date Of Birth: Unknown Assigned Gender: Male Identifies as:Male Preferred Pronouns: He, Him Age: Unknown Sexuality:Straight Appearance; Height: 180 Weight: 75 Body Type: Lean, Muscular Skills; Sephirot was slave as long as he could remember. Member of re-origination team along with Diana, he would set the world ablaze, while she would release the contagion to... change...things. Although most of his power was drained by the obelisk, he still posses the knowledge and experience he gained during his servitude. He knows how to kill efficiently and possesses extensive survival skills. Pros And Cons; PRO[+/-] Bond with Diana - has very strong bond with Diana, able to sense when she is in distress aswell as her general location. PRO[+/-] Affinity towards fire - although nearly all of his power was lost, drained by obelisk during their escape, Sephirot still excels at working with fire, be it at the forge, or while making things explode. PRO[+/-] Fiery Wings - Able to fly for short periods of time, aswell as use them as a shield to small extend. CON[+/-] Antisocial - Being slave most of his life didnt give him much chance to socialize. He does not feel comfortable in crowds. CON[+/-] Callous - Seeing worlds die over and over numbed him towards suffering of others. He has no empathy for strangers and struggles trying to express his feelings. CON[+/-] Distrustful - dealing with lies and deception all his life Sephirot has a hard time trusting anybody. Pet; Always wanted a gasbag, although cant explain why. For some reason the sight of those creatures made him feel sentimental. History; She knelt on the cold stone floor. A stench of death hung in the air. She could feel HIS presence looming over her. “You have done well, X-117,” the voice was disembodied, the voice of a hundred beings in unison. “It is unfortunate I have another toy that has reached its limit. There will be no time for...further augmenting…,” a snicker, “...before your next mission.” A hundred years ago, she may have flinched. Augmenting. That’s what he called it. Poisoning her body, filling her with a pain so excruciating her will to live hung by a thread. Somehow, every time she survived it. It was almost a game for him now. How much more could she take? The same corruption that they used to finish re-origination, to hasten the decay of life, inside her. She stared straight ahead, unfaltering. Her expression unreadable. They had known about this mission. Studied it. They couldn’t let HIM know. Claws scraped the stone floor as a massive form drew closer to her. “Perhaps we have a little time before…,” she could hear the grotesque grin in his voice. The scrape of metal against stone. She swallowed hard as she felt the familiar tingle in her shoulder. It was all she could do to not steal a glance. A pause. The gargantuan creatures gaze shifted. “Preparations are made,” a masculine voice. “The apocalypse machine is ready.” Heavy footsteps confidently walked up behind her, passing her to stand directly in front of the beast. The clang of chains. She could see the blazing wings at the edges of her eyesight. “You have done….well,” a hint of disappointment in HIS voice, directed at the man. There would be no downtime before their next strike. -- - --- - -- - She adjusted her armor. Not like she needed it, she sneered. As she fastened her gauntlet, she stared at her arm. Grotesque. Covered in rotten scales, a faint glow underneath them. She balled up her hand, slamming a fist into the wall, shattering the stone. As her anger ebbed, the glow grew stronger. Her body shook with rage. She could not be HIS slave anymore. Would not. This had to work. She could not remember a life before this. The endless cycle. As a planet neared the end of its life, HE would send them. His General and his Monster, the physical personification of his apocalypse. She had never known a real name. Just a number. The only of his experiments to survive past the first test. And more. Too many more. Test. More like torture, she thought to herself. Any life she had before, any identity she may have had, was buried in a century of recurring nightmares. The glow dimmed. How long had this game gone on? She remembered waking up, swimming in an augmentation pod. That was her first memory. Whether she was birthed from the machine, or was a mindless tool of destruction for countless years prior, she did not know. But she remembered his face. How he paused to look at her. The ache in her shoulder. The fiery wings. That was also the first time she felt alive, cognitive. She felt the poison coursing through her. Felt her own flesh decaying. He unplugged the machine. Shortly after, she was appointed to be part of the re-origination team. A two man team. HIS insurance policy in case the General failed. She laughed quietly. The General never failed. But she was grateful for the new position. For him. Absentmindedly, she ran a clawed hand over her shoulder. The corruption stopped right before the curious mark. The mark was somehow linked to the General. She could feel when he was near. She had to stifle a laugh at how ridiculous it sounded. Whether they each suffered a similar attack, or they met in battle before either of them had any recollection of tangible memory, they were connected. She used to think often about what she was before waking up in that pod. She smiled, a rare reprieve from the eternal cyclic hell they lived and wrought. Now, she thought about tomorrow. ----- The end was here, skies turned crimson as earth shook and black foul smelling ichor started flooding out of the cracks in the ground.It covered the land, corrupting and twisting everything it touched. Animals and people that came into contact with it instantly became paralyzed, pure terror in their eyes as the liquid made its way up their bodies perverting them, turning them into disgusting caricatures of creatures they once were. The redheaded woman stood on top of mountain, her scale-covered hand held by a scarred hand of a being the foolish mortals would see as an angel, both bearing similar marks on their shoulders. They watched the events unveil with sick fascination. No matter how many times they witnessed it before the sheer horror and macabre of it all always amazed them. How many worlds did they see fall by now? Whenever HE got bored of toying with inhabitants of the world they would be summoned. Granting them small reprieve from endless torture and experiments. Order would be given. Order would be fulfilled. Tortures and experiments would resume. The never ending hundreds years long cycle. But maybe this time something would be different. A small flame of hope burned in both of them. While steering this world towards its destruction, putting all the puzzles in place, they discovered a small shrine in cavern. Inside the shrine they found several artifacts and a stone tablet, describing a ritual. A ritual very dangerous and with a high cost, but one that could give them freedom. Hope, was such an odd thing, none of them could remember experiencing it before. He looked away from all the horrors that transpired and turned towards her, his red glowing eyes looking with concern into her green ones. "Are you sure about this?" he asked "If it wont work, if HE finds out...." She smiled at him and nodded "We can’t go on like this! We have to try! There is no telling what he would do if he finds out about us!". She kissed him "We don't have much time, we have to hurry!" They climbed on Ouroboros their corrupt rock drake, HIS small gift for them and took off towards the red obelisk. They landed near the altar and quickly dismounted. They opened their bags and dug out the artifacts hastily placing them on the pedestal following the clues from the tablet. As last artifact was placed in place the shrine started to hum, they could feel energy being drawn, from land, from plants, the animals but most of all from both of them! They felt their strength leave them as the pedestal started to glow with white pulsating light. They held each other tightly and kissed as the light grew brighter and brighter, blinding them to the world around them, the world that was hastily becoming what could only be described as hell, the world that was hell for them long before. Finally the light faded out, X-117 and Archangel as well as their corrupt rock drake were nowhere to be seen. |
