The Basics; Your Username: Storm, Kira, Kira Character Name: Storm on the Horizon Mountain Tree "Storm" Date Of Birth: May 4, 1362 Assigned Gender: Female Identifies as: Female Preferred Pronouns: She/Her Age: 38 years old Sexuality: Pansexual Appearance; Species: Tabaxi (ta-BAHSH-ee) Height: 6'0" Weight: 174 lbs Body Type: Athletic Skills; Storm is a ranger. As such, her ARCHERY skills are advanced and she prefers to kill her targets from a distance using a bow. She was trained by Keogith (her mentor). She also has an uncanny ability to see in the dark. This DARKVISION was granted to her by the Cat Lord and was not a skill she learned, only enhanced to make her a better ranger. Storm's natural feline AGILITY is also something the Cat Lord gave her upon her birth, much like her CURIOSITY which has gotten her into trouble at times. Since she is a ranger, her SCOUTING and TRACKING abilities are quite advanced as well. Living on a mountain, she had to find her way through the shrubs and other greenery that all seemed to look alike. She has done this with excellence and become a renowned scout. Pros And Cons; PRO[+] Loyal She once ran twenty-five miles without stopping to warn her clan of an approaching orc horde. She would do it again if she had to. PRO[+] Fair Storm believes that it is each person's responsibility to make the most happiness for the whole tribe and not on one individual's shoulders to do so. PRO[+] Knowledgeable She feels inside that she has a lesson for every situation to arise in her life, which she has drawn from observing nature. CON[-] Untrusting Storm has a very hard time trusting anyone other than herself, even those she calls friends. She puts on a good front, though. CON[-] Hot-Headed She has a short temper and violence is often the answer to almost any challenge to come her way. CON[-] Anxious Storm dislikes large gatherings of people and much prefers the company of animals that of people. Pet; When Storm first looked at the griffin egg nearly three years ago now, she was definitely in no mood to do anything with it, much less hatch it. However, her daughter Rain had other plans and secretly started incubating the egg. At the first crack of the egg and soft cry coming from within, Storm had become intrigued. It has not waned since. [griffin] was unlike anything Storm had ever seen, though it was not a horrible thing. One might think that a catlike creature and a birdlike creature would not get along, but that was far from the truth. With each new feat the two encountered and overcame, the bond deepened. [griffin] is never tethered and has free rein to fly wherever they wish, but has no interest in finding a mate. Storm is quite happy for that because she would be deeply saddened over [griffin]'s loss if it were ever to happen. History; Storm was born in a small secluded mountain community of Tabaxi on an island far from this new land. One distinguising feature of her homeland was the very large tree that grew near the top of the mountain, for which her clan was named. Not only was it larger than any other tree around, it also sported purple leaves that never wilted as others did. Her mate, Flickering Flame Surging Mist, traveled to her mountain simply to see this tree as he'd heard stories about it as he grew up. It was during his visit that she fell in love and could not part from him. They were joined in the ritual of her people a month later. Storm was actually rather old in comparison to the other females in her tribe when she was mated to Flame. It was feared, she knew, that if Flame hadn't shown up when he had, she would have never been mated to anyone. Her upbringing was not entirely easy, though. She had a tribe to help her parents care for her, but hers was not the only mouth they had to feed. She was the fifth child of nine to be born to them, often lost in the middle of it all and left to care for herself. The rest of the tribe were not much better. And so it was that on one of her forays into the surrounding forests that covered the mountain, she became lost among the greenery. She was, perhaps, eleven at this time. It didn't matter that she had ventured into these forests more than once in all her years, at that time, she was lost. Her heart pounded as she was soon set upon by a small pack of voracious raptors. Storm had curled herself into a ball of fur to minimize the damage that they would do to her as they tore her apart, but it didn't come. She opened her eyes after hearing animalistic cries of pain and saw all three raptors dead on the forest floor. At the edge of the thicket stood a man holding a bow that he lowered when she saw him. This man, Keogith, she would come to know was of a race called Goliath and he had mastered the art of stealth and archery (Ranger). He had taken pity on the little female cat person, even though he was a hermit and did all he could to avoid interactions with anyone else. Because of this action alone, Storm decided that she would make a point of getting to know Keogith, much to his chagrin. However, as she aged, and he saw the promise, he took her under his wing, so to speak, and taught her everything he knew. By the time she met Flame and was mated to him, she was quite the accomplished hunter and scout for her tribe as well as a guide to those outside of it. After leaving her homeland and traveling to Flame's clan-land in another part of the same island, she soon learned this area as well and became just as good as she had been at home. Her mate was a trader and traveled on a caravan to buy and sell wares. Storm often went with him until their first child arrived, when she then stayed at home to raise her. Odd Rain Surging Mist (Rain) was the first of their four children to be born. The little female was ferocious and seemed, at times, more feral than humanoid. Over time, however, it was learned that she was just more in tune with her animalistic nature than most Tabaxi were. She was born in 1383 and is currently 17. She is also their only daughter. A year after Rain arrived, Storm birthed their first son. Belly of a Beast Surging Mist (Beast) is quite different than his namesake. He was the polar opposite of his sister in his demeanor and is quite mild mannered. He prefers reading his books to much of anything else. Storm believes he might be on the path to become a scholar one day. He was born in 1384 and is currently 16. Jolly Timber Surging Mist (Timber) is the third child to come to the little family. This strong male seemed pretty average when he was born, but has since undergone a transformation that has caused him to sprout in both height and muscle. He is quite easily the largest Tabaxi in the area. He was born in 1385 and is currently 15. The last of the children born to Flame and Storm arrived during a morning thunderstorm and gave them reason to name him to honor such a gift from the Cat Lord. Thunder in the Morning Surging Mist (Thunder) was a large babe and seemed to dislike the attention that Storm had paid to her other children as babes. Independant, to be sure. As he has grown he has only gotten more so. Storm tries to keep him close, but that just seems to drive him away more. For now, she is adjusting her mothering of him. He was born in 1386 and is currently 14. Over the past nearly three years since she hatched [griffin], the two have become such a pair that even though the area knows Storm's ability to track in the forest to be unmatched by any around, they all agree that when she is with [griffin] it's as if she can see through their eyes. Two years ago (1398) her mate, Flame, was on his way home from a trading trip when he was set upon by a pack of raptors and killed. Storm has never gotten over his death and to this day will kill any raptor that she sees, or at least attempt to kill it. This also left Flame's trading business without an owner, so Storm has taken it up in part to keep his memory alive. Just look for Flame's Emporium! Additional Information; Tabaxi Quirk: Storm purrs loudly when she is happy. Current Tabaxi Obsession: She always carries a small mundane wooden carving of an eagle and caresses it often. Sworn Enemy: Her forebears fought these creatures (raptors) and the stories were passed down between the generations. This, coupled with her own history with them, has given her the irresistable urge to kill all raptors she sees. Even those that are not in the wild. It's akin to a barbarian's rage.
